Simulated contest field

Builds the lineups your contest's opponents are likely to enter: matched to projected ownership, spending the cap like real entries, stacking the way the field stacks, and no junk lineups. Step 3 plays the contest out thousands of times against it.

Simulation

Plays the contest out thousands of times: every player gets a score from his projection, floor, and ceiling, with teammates and games moving together, and every entry (the field's and yours) is paid by where it finishes. Duplicated lineups split their prizes.

Floors and ceilings are read as each player's 20th and 80th percentile outcomes. Spread factors stretch or tighten them to match how real results have spread out; correlations tie teammates (and opponents) together.

  • Save, export and late swap your simmed lineups

Frequently asked questions

What is a DFS simulator?

A DFS simulator plays out a slate many times using each player's range of outcomes, builds a field of opponents, and measures how your lineups would finish. The result is an expected ROI for every lineup.

How is a simulator different from an optimizer?

An optimizer builds the highest-projected lineups. A simulator accounts for variance, correlation and what the field is playing, so it can tell you which lineups are actually profitable.

Which sports can I simulate?

NFL, NBA, MLB and PGA contests on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Is the DFS simulator free?

You can open the simulator and look at the slate without an account. Running sims is part of the DraftDime Gold plans.
