How the AI Lineup Builder Works

The AI Lineup Builder studies the slate and your contest, then sets up DraftDime's optimizer to build a portfolio for it, reviews the lineups and explains every decision.

What the AI does

The AI does not invent lineups on its own. It works the DFS optimizer the way an experienced player would: it reads the slate (projections, ownership, games, injuries and your contest's payouts), decides how the portfolio should be built, and turns that into optimizer settings.

Every lineup still comes from the optimizer, so it fits the salary cap and roster rules and respects the locks, excludes and stacks you already set. The AI Builder supports NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA and NHL.

  1. 1

    Plan

The AI picks stacks, exposures and player groups for your contest type and payouts.

  2. 2

    Build and review

The optimizer builds the lineups; the AI checks them and revises the plan if needed.

  3. 3

    Write-up

You get a summary of the portfolio, a note on each lineup and anything to check before lock.

Setting up a build

Open the optimizer, switch to AI and click Build with AI. Pick the contest the same way as in the simulator: a payout preset or your own ladder, the number of entries, the entry fee and the rake. The contest type (GPP, single entry or cash) follows the payouts, and you can change it.

Choose how many lineups you want (up to 150) and the AI model, and add special instructions if you have a hunch, for example "I think this game shoots out, build around it and fade this player".

AI credits

AI usage is paid from a prepaid AI credits wallet, separate from your membership. Before a build starts, the panel shows what it is expected to cost and holds that amount; you are charged only what the model actually uses, and a cancelled build is charged only for what it used so far.

Credit deposits are final and non-refundable.

Reading the results

A finished build opens on the AI summary: how the portfolio is built and why, which games and stacks it leans on, where it is over or under the field's ownership, and any notes the AI wants you to check before lock.

Lineup notes and exposure

View the lineups to see every one with its projection, salary and ownership, and a short note from the AI on what that lineup is built around. The exposure report shows how often each player appears.

Changing the portfolio

Use Ask AI to talk to the build. Before lock, Modify changes the lineups from a plain-language request, like "fade Player X" or "more three-man stacks". Ask questions about the build without changing it, and once games start, late swap players whose games have not started.

AI builds are saved like any other build, so they go into CSV export, contest entries, late swap and the DFS simulator.
